Darkness Falls Mod

This is a mod that Khainegb initially made to solve some "problems" that his wife and friends were having. In fact, it turned out that he really liked being involved in modding, and as a result, he expanded it a bit. The challenge was to polish the precocious game, which in principle took more time than realizing "Iron and Steel". He also tried to block a large number of recipes behind the advantages, and make a different realism, since most of the normal people don't understand how to make them.

In addition, he said that starting to perform in Alpha 8 made him want to bring back some of the baggage from the era. Hub City, Sharp Stones, and Sticks are good examples, and he wants to connect more gameplay opportunities from that era. He also seems to want to add fresh zombies/enemies to make the "end game" harder to arrange.

Darkness Falls is a full remaster mod, and KhaineGb has permanently changed a ton of XML files. Not all modlets are compatible, so he thought it would be a good idea to create a list of modlets that work.

Confirmed Working

  • Using a mod that is not on this list means we cannot provide support.
  • Conjuration (tested to work with pre-release A19).

Valmar's Expanded Traps (no other modlets have been tested here)

Do not install compo packs. It's already in the game, and has been modified to make quests work more reliably and balance loot and zombies better.

Known Issues

  • Do not use nitrogen. Nitrogen is not subject to the biome restrictions that KhaineGB introduced for some POIs.
  • Animals have issues that should be researched.

Food/water doesn't show up properly. Anything over 100 doesn't seem to work, so take that into consideration.

Installation Instructions (If You Don’t Use the Mod Launcher)

First, make a copy of the 7 Days to Die folder!

Download the zip file from the link below. Extract the Mods folder, Darkness Falls icon, and Serverconfig. xml into the 7 Days to Die folder. Edit when prompted.

Installation Instructions for macOS Users

Here's the video.
